What are solar power systems?
Solar power systems convert sunlight into electricity. They come in three main types β off-grid, hybrid and on-grid β and Soltree Renewables will help you choose the one that fits your location, budget and need for backup.
On-Grid (Grid-Tied)
Works alongside the public utility grid. Panels power your home directly; surplus power is exported to the grid for net-metering credits, and you draw from the grid when panels aren't producing.
- Lowest upfront cost β no batteries needed
- Constant, reliable power supply
- Best for urban & suburban homes with a stable grid
Off-Grid (Stand-Alone)
Completely independent of the public grid. Panels charge a battery bank that stores energy for round-the-clock use, with an inverter and often a backup generator.
- Unaffected by power outages or tariff hikes
- Zero carbon footprint from your electricity
- Best for remote homes, cabins & farms without grid access
Hybrid
Connected to the grid like an on-grid system, but with a battery bank that stores excess solar energy for use during outages or peak-tariff hours.
- Backup power during blackouts
- Use stored solar power when it's most valuable
- Best for blackout-prone areas & high-value loads
| Feature | On-Grid | Off-Grid | Hybrid |
